During the winter semester in the 2015 – 2016 academic year students from Manhattan College visited Venice, Italy to be immersed in the cities rich religious and architectural history. Students lived a two minute walk from the cities famous Jewish Ghetto, he oldest ghetto in the world which turns 500 years old in 2016.
Students learned about the plight of the Jews in Venice and how while segregated they still played an important part in the cities economic life.
Students were also taught about the architecture on display around the city and how it played into the myth of Venice.
